Keep Your Eyes On The Road
With the amount of distractions that impact people when they are driving it is a wonder there are not more accidents. If a person tells you that they never get distracted while driving, don’t believe them. There are almost no male drivers in existence who wouldn’t turn their heads if they saw a beautiful blonde in a bikini riding in the back of a jeep. Or possibly a well muscled man strolling down the sidewalk shirtless. The point is that many people do become distracted and this is what causes accidents. These paragraphs will discuss some of the strategies you can use to keep yourself from becoming distracted.
The main action to take is turn off your cell phone when you’re driving. In many areas it is in fact against the law to drive and use your cell phone at the same time. Of course that will not prevent people. It’s a good idea to get into the habit of shutting off the phone whenever you enter your car. Likewise, you can turn it back on whenever you get out of the car. You will not have to worry about missing calls since you can get access to your messages once your phone is on again.
If using the radio while driving, keep it on one station rather than changing frequently. Simply taking your eyes off the road for the time it takes to change a station can cause an accident. You may want to consider loading up your mp3 player with your favorite music and then hooking that up in the car so you enjoy hearing your preferred music.
One thing that’s not against the law, but should be is people trying to eat when they are driving. It’s fairly simple for most individuals to enjoy a sub sandwich when they’re driving. But visualize the scenario when you take a bite and a bit of of the insides of your sandwich fall onto your lap. You start looking downward, taking your one hand off the wheel so that you can try and grab the mess and through it on the floor. Not surprisingly you forgot that in your other hand was the rest of the sub so now you don’t even have any hands on the wheel. Combining eating and driving doesn’t succeed very well.
In closing, allow me to share two more suggestions for behavior to avoid in the car. It is a terrible practice for women to be driving and putting on makeup at the same time. Spend a few more moments at home and apply it there. In the same vein, men must cease using electric razors while driving. Just as before a few more minutes at home and it is easy to take care of your shaving there. Sure, all of us are in a hurry to get places, but we won’t get there any faster if we’re in an accident or get pulled over for reckless driving, so finish up your grooming at home.
